Integration of Technology
Integrating technology in the classroom is essential for preparing the students for success in the future. It is vital that we spend the time to get trained and comfortable with integrating technology on a daily basis. The better we are prepared to teach it, the more successful it will be for the students. Overall, integration of technology takes time to do it successfully.

Hi Lori,
ReplyDeleteI finally got to your blog!! I'll be in Columbia,SC May 8 & 9. Any good hotels near the conference center?
Rebekah Thompson
Are you staying near the convention center? There are so many hotels within a close distance, but I definitely recommend that you go to Liberty for lunch or dinner. Great restaurant! There is a hotel right beside the convention center...Hilton and another one, of which I can't remember which one it is. When I find out, I will let you know.
ReplyDeleteUsing a blog in the classroom is a great idea. I teach sixth grade students ELA and SS. I think that this would be great for them to be able to ask me questions regarding an assignment or to just celebrate achievements. It would enhance the lessons by giving them one more way in which they could receive help outside of school.
ReplyDeleteReflection (Week 8):
ReplyDeleteThis is a reflection of my learning throughout the last 8 week course through Walden University regarding the integration of technology in the classroom.
This course has given me the opportunity to discuss with others the importance of technology in the classroom. The discussions provided me with a great experience because I was able to discuss with other professionals regarding their insights, beliefs, and even specific activities that could be used in the classroom. Also, the course readings and the video clips provided me with information that was useful in integrating technology on a daily basis and gave step by step procedures for doing so. Not only did it give me the information to be able to use the technology, but most of all, how to integrate it in the classroom with my students successfully. After all, if it isn't integrated appropriately, then it may not serve as great of purpose. All in all, this course provided me with great ideas for integrating technology in my classroom and really emphasized the importance of technology integration.
After completion of this course, I have decided on a couple goals that I have for the upcoming school years. One goal of mine is to successfully introduce 3-6 new types of technology to my students over the course of an entire school year. This would have to be a type of technology that the majority of the students never used. Another goal of mine is to successfully integrate technology on a daily basis. Basically, I would like to integrate technology throughout the school year, with my main goal in mind, so that the students will be successful in the 21st century.
